I founded the Rockstar Woman™ Brunch four years ago because I was frustrated with the engagement, design, and experience of existing networking events and conferences targeting women leaders.
I had grown weary of attending networking events billed for women and being the only Black woman/woman of color in the room. I could no longer ignore the glaring dissonance in supply chain realities at women’s conferences. Why were the primary suppliers of goods and services for said conferences predominantly companies owned by men? Also, where was the imagination and creativity in women’s conference swag? I neither needed nor wanted another silicone stress ball, boring tote, or standard-issue ink pen. Traditional conference swag felt like clutter when it should be cool, relevant, and a value add!
The Rockstar Woman Movement exists to believe + invest in the aspirations, ambition, and wellness of women who lead, love and serve in transformational ways in their homes, marketplaces, and communities.
Our target audience is specifically women who are the "Rock". The women we served are rocks and pillars in their homes and families, marketplaces, and communities. Our woman is the first call for help. She is 911 and 411. She is the glue, and often - her strength renders her invisible.
On the back of a napkin, I mapped my vision. I created on paper how I would disrupt the market and curate an experience for women who lead, love, and serve in transformational ways that would be authentic, fun, and life-changing! What I envisioned did not exist in the market, so I created it. The vision that began on a napkin launched in 2019 and is known as the Rockstar Woman ™ Brunch.
Rockstar women who lead, love, and serve in transformational ways are EXHAUSTED and yet can masterfully “slay” even when they are personally, not okay. Even prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, women leaders have been tasked to function as pivot masters, architects of healing, innovators under pressure, and creators in chaos. The explicit and implicit physical and emotional labor required of women is intense. To adapt, women leaders often feel pressure to emotionally tuck their own invisible and visible realities in order to satisfy the needs of the myriad stakeholders attached to their personal, professional, and civic life and leadership.
More than ever, the mental and emotional health of women tasked to lead, love, and serve in their homes, marketplaces and communities matters. Serving this community of women is our passion! Providing head + heart solutions to invest in her aspirations, ambition, and wellness is our jam!
